Roy A. Ouellette, 85 of Largo, FL and Billerica, MA passed away at the Hospice of the Woodside on December 6, 2012.
A native of Billerica, MA and a winter resident of Largo, FL; Roy was a retired mechanical engineer for Raytheon Corporation for over 40 years and a US Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He served during the Normandy Invasion Beach Head and during his years at Raytheon, he was instrumental in the development of the Patriot Missile System. He was a Christian and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served on the USS LST # 336; USS Zenobia and the USS Yosemite and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal; American Theatre Medal and the European Africa Middle Eastern Theatre Medal with 1 Star.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife, Doris Ouellette of Largo, FL and Billerica, MA; his son, Dale Ouellette and his wife, Lisa of Merrimack, NH; a daughter, Debra Immonen and her husband Roy of Attleboro, MA; two brothers; George Ouellette of New York, NY and Richard Ouellette and his wife, Margaret of Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren: Erik Immonen, Kara Immonen, Brandon Ouellette and Danielle Ouellette and two great grandchildren, Karl Immonen and Derik Immonen.
Graveside services at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Fl 33744 are at 3:00 PM, Monday, December 10, 2012 with full military honors by the Pinellas County MIlitary Honor Guard and Chaplin Herb Kicklet, officiating.
