Our Beloved Lonnie Gene Chatman, 63, of Treasure Island, FL went home with Jesus May 10th, 2012 after a brave battle with cancer.
PFC Lonnie was our personal hero, and he was a wounded and honored Veteran who served his country for two terms in the Vietnam War.
Lonnie is survived most immediately by his two sisters, Jennifer Ragan of Treasure Island, FL, and Jonni Cooper of Myakka City, FL, who provided loving care for him for a long time. He is further survived by a Great Aunt, Ruth Odle of YuKon, OK; his parents, Norman and Sheelah Chatman of Astor, FL; his Aunts Eunice Dunham and Sammilyn Miller, both of MO; his Uncle Bernum Robertson of GA; a third sister, Victoria Rondeau of GA; two brothers Kristopher and Kenneth Barton of Milton, FL; seven nieces, Suzanne, Bobbi, Amy, Debbie, Corey, Kayla, Caela, and two Nephews, James and Kelsey; eleven great nieces and nephews, Kristi, Jeremy, Malcolm, Kayla, Cody, Samantha, Alex, Ian, James, Emily and Jack, and two great great Nephews Jon Riley and Adrian.
The family will hold a private service for Lonnie and ask that anyone wishing to send flowers please send a donation to the Bay Pines VAHCS, PO Box 5005, Sect. 135, Bay Pines, FL 33744 (note Hospice in memo), or to any Hospice of choice in Loving Memory of Lonnie.
A goodbye is never gone, and we will all miss and love you forever Lonnie.
